The setting: Industrial post-apocalyptic futuristic
post-WWII era where Hitler wins, and his influence spreads throughout Europe and the US. Hitler's vision of a Greater Germany is more or less accomplished, stretching till Spain in the west(even Italy), and Ukraine to the east. Somehow, the pilots that were meant to drop Fat Man and Little Boy never made it. The US Government has since then long fallen. Democracy is a long-lost form of government, and many of the world whisper the legend of long-dead superheroes fighting the Last Resistance of Freedom, where people with special powers (mutants) rallied and fought to their deaths in London against the hordes of cloned German soldiers. China is embroiled in its bitter struggle against Greater Japan. But the story focuses in Britian. The entire landscape is different. Tall factories stretch far into the horizon churning war machines and cloning soul-less soldiers to chase and conquer the remaining pockets of resistance in N.America. The sky is forever overcast with clouds because of the amount of smoke pumped from said factories. Platoons of soldiers patrol Residential Area Category A-2, making sure that the surviving "Aryans" are well fed. The elderly tell their young that this area used to be called Brighton. Every fortnight 10 people are rounded up and taken off by the dreaded "black masks", and these 10 people are never seen again. The residents in A-2 have no idea what's going on.
Enter the characters:
Jake Proud, a "traitor"(as seen by A-2) who has a shady past, but is now working as an agent for the Third Reich. Not any ordinary agent, mind you, he is tasked with overseeing A-2. This is extremely boring, as the town with its population of 1000 already has its own council and runs its own daily affairs. All he does is read the daily reports by the head of the council, and the platoon leader of the 514th Infantry Regiment. Jake is a "natural", like the captive "Aryans" of the Residential Area that he is charged with taking care of, he has not been trained (actually its more of brainwashing) that every one who pledges allegience to the Third Reich (or at least, to his knowledge) has been subjected to.
Nikkita Kalishnov, a woman whom Jake stumbles upon under mysterious circumstances. She is beautiful, and somehow knows who Jake is. Or was.
Brian Campbell is the charismatic Head of Council. He sees Jake every 6.30pm everyday to hand in his daily report.
Platoon Leader RA-E863 wears the same mask as any other soldier. However he wears a different uniform and is actually kind of talkative. He has a cynical sense of humor, and usually argues with Brian when they both arrive at Jake's office to hand in their daily report.
