I've gotten hold of my band Kell's recording last night, finally. I've listened to it, and suffice to say, room for improvement is an understatement. I think we have a really long way to go. Perry's strumming is really in a way which i dun like, Hai yan screams till zhao sia becos perry plays too loud. Si han the bassist's playing was fucking atrocious, it was that of a kindergarten school kid. In no small part that his bass guitar was out of tune, and perry didnt bother to tune it for him. Tempo is really bad. Really, really bad. Tempo is nv my forte. In fact, i nv knew that my forte was when i was a percussionist. I was 'a good timpanist' by most comments, but i don't know what my specific strengths are.

I can safely say Kell is NOT UP TO PERFORMING STANDARDS YET. WE ARE GOING TO PERFORM IN 2/3MONTHS TIME.

I had alot more non-flattering comments but that's between me and my band. From now on, i will stop the band if there is something i don't like. I will try my best to remember what my secondary sch conductor taught the whole band (or at least, the basic stuffs, like LISTENING TO EACH OTHER'S PLAYING AND NOT PLAY OUT OF TEMPO).

As long as i can find problems and pinpoint them, there'll be solutions to be found. I will persist and remedy these really really basic probs.

I hope my band members' egos will not get the better of them (like i knew how Fahmi pissed lots of ppl off at one time or another), but for the fucking sake of the sound of Kell, i'll try my best to listen and remedy stuff.

I'll try my best to think with my head while listening, and not just blindly playing. I'm not doing this to be a prick, i'll be doing this to improve the sound of the band, and not catering to oneself's ego.

Why am i typing this fucking thing out here anyway? My band members don't know my blog address, and i've no inclination to give it to them.

My recording is available for download upon request, but i do not encourage listening to it. Imploding and/or perforating eardrums, sense of nausea, involuntary spasms and screaming of "IT STINGS AND BURNS!" will NOT be held responsible by me or any one else but yourself. =D

The Singapore rock scene still needs a major improvement. There is not enough coverage. Well there's the school of rock event, but there were 2 other 'big' gigs in SG also, but there's NO NEWS of it in the newspapers, nor in the online news sites of our local newspapers, whether free or not. In fact, i think the only form of advertisement for the "Exposure 77.1" was the flyers pasted in a few of the shops in Peninsula Plaza's guitar shops, and word of mouth, whereby word of mouth in this context means "Eh you steady bo i performing lei you better come lar no1 else coming lei pls pls pls pls come for awhile only". LOL I'm not sure about that lah, but you get the idea.

Very disappointed.

School of Rock had a 1500- crowd. Should have been there.

I am going to sch 2ml, at 1pm. A lecturer's gonna give last minute revision on Mathematics, from 1-5. I intend to stay there as long as i can so that i understand the best of what i can.

This lecturer's not a prickass like the one's that in charge of the module, so i'm pretty sure i can absorb lots 2ml. Seriously, that KUANKO(cant seem to find a link on the NYP site, and i 4got his full name) deserves 1000 kilotons of potato wedges jammed up his arse, and a gu niang's (a la opera singer) voice which will invariably zao sia into a deep macho russian style(a la Arnold Swaearearceheanger that's Governer) at any possible time. He should just crash and burn la, ok, cos he SUCKS AT TEACHING. MY DAMN GRANDMOTHER CAN TEACH ME BETTER AND SHE ONLY SPEAKS HAINANESE. Geez.

I have a long-term goal: to get Kell into top 10 positions of the next School of Rock. Its not that hard.

I dunno wad else there is to type. Currently i'm very into this 'rock band' thing. I'll try my best to post about other stuff. Another time.
