Woah The Who is gonna be in this rhythm game called Rock Band (obviously). Looks to be damn nice, with their WHOLE "Who's Next" album available to play! "Won't be fooled again", "Behind blue eyes" .. Classic man... Along with Metallica, Foo Fighters, The Strokes, The Ramones wah fuck so many bands from all over.
Not meant to be hype, but rhythm games have always had famous songs before, but they're always been covers and not the real thing. And only a song or two at most. Now this game dev is saying multiple albums (of which The Who's the first) is gonna be available to play?! Sounds too good to be true.
In fact there has been several homebrew video games (notably DTXMania which HH plays) that allow the gamer to use their own songs (thus whole albums) to play, with their own drum tracks. This of course is much more customizable and its free but I'm pretty interested in how Rock Band is gonna be. It will be worth getting if more big name albums are made available. ^_^
Digression: This history of video games makes for very good reading. What began as simple programs coded as a novelty by smartass scientists has become a multi-billion dollar industry and unarguably an indispensable part of many kids' life.
